Our journey started with a Dementia Friends bake sale in memory of Hannah’s late grandfather. What began as a way to support a cause close to our hearts quickly grew into the business we love today.
By day, we’re both full-time ambulance crew and by night (and every spare moment in between!) we’re bakers and business owners.
Hannah’s love for baking came from spending years in the kitchen with her Nan and her late mum, Sally. Rebecca’s passion came later, after Hannah introduced her to all the delicious bakes we could create together – and she was hooked!
We absolutely love sharing our passion with you all, whether it’s a single brownie or sausage roll, a celebration cake, or catering for a full event buffet.
But The Rustic Kitchen is about more than just great food. Rebecca has coeliac disease, so accessibility is incredibly important to us. We pride ourselves on creating delicious food that everyone can enjoy, without compromising on taste or charging premium prices. With a separate kitchen and double the food safety knowledge, we’re committed to making sure everyone can enjoy a treat.
When we’re not baking or working on the ambulances, you’ll usually find us out on walks, traveling, reading, watching musicals, listening to country music, gardening, or spending quality time with friends and family.
And we couldn’t do any of this without our amazing support team, who you may spot from time to time as delivery drivers, backup bakers, or DIY specialists! A huge thank you to Kevin, Sue, Lee, Caroline, Joseph, Sophie, Graham and Rachel.
And of course, special mention goes to our favourite little taste testers, Frankie & Mia, who make sure everything meets the highest standards.
